Freight ShippingUpdated 3 months ago

Freight shipping is something most customers are not familiar with, so here is the quick rundown.

Freight is typically used for oversized/heavy items that can not ship through standard parcel carriers (like UPS/FedEx/USPS). Because of the extra handling, processing and transit time may be longer than standard shipping.

Scheduling & delivery expectations

Once the shipment arrives to their delivery terminal, the freight carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery day/time window (especially for residential deliveries).

A signature is required for delivery. If you authorize the carrier to deliver without a signature (including “leave at door” or delivery release), you assume all risk and release WRXDaily from liability for any loss, theft, or damage that occurs after delivery.

Inspect on delivery (this part matters)

In the rare case there is damage, it is required to be noted on the BOL (Bill of Lading) / delivery receipt before you sign anything.

  • Ask the driver to note any visible damage on the BOL (cracks, dents, tears, punctures, etc.)
  • If the driver can not wait for a full inspection, make sure the BOL reflects that (ex: “driver did not wait for inspection” / “subject to inspection”).
  • If you sign the BOL with no damage noted, the damage claim will most likely be denied.

If your freight item arrives damaged

Accept the delivery and contact us immediately.

Document everything: photos and video of:

  • The pallet/box/crate
  • All packaging
  • The damaged area(s) (close-ups + wider shots)

Important: Freight carriers have a short window to open a claim, often within 24 hours of delivery, so do not wait.

We use safe packing materials and take precautions because we know these items are a big deal! Mistakes happen and we are here to help you through it.
